Hello, chickabiddy.
I, earnestly and wholeheartedly, agree with this statement. But do you know what's lovelier? Having several uninterrupted hours with a good book.
Reading brings me so much joy. It's such an integral part of my life, I can't go a day without it. Although each day brings new challenges and we all have a million things to do, I still read every day because, it turns out, one makes the time for the things that are truly valuable. I get upset when I don't get enough time to read because reading cannot, and should not, be rushed. It is meant to be relished and savoured, ergo it should be done at leisure.
It's absolutely exhilarating when you're done with all the work and you can finally sit down with your book and read for several hours. My mom and I often read together, spending many quiet hours with our noses in our books. My grandfather was a voracious reader as well, so I guess it runs in the family and I'm glad that I get to carry on the family tradition. I only wish we'd gotten a chance to read together.
Thank you for reading.
