This story is set amidst farms, rivers, hills, and everything that makes a beautiful village scene. People here seldom head to the city, grow most of the food by themselves and share with each other…..This is where we live!
While everyone in my house wakes up early, I usually wake up after the sun is up.
Sometimes I do wake up early and again lie down in a khatiya\cot in the courtyard or roam in the garden. Its a bliss to feel the cool breeze which doesn’t let me doze off again, watch the rising sun through the lush greens, giving life to the blossoming hibiscus, parrots and colourful birds coming to the fruit trees for their breakfast, and the constant voiceover from mom to take a bath to get my own breakfast!
That day, I was chilling in the courtyard early in the morning and a guy from a neighbouring farm came as usual to supply milk to our house.
Which way do you think of having fresh milk - morning tea or coffee??
That moment I wanted to eat Morkuzhambu!
I don’t drink milk, so my options are slightly different. Morkuzhambu is a curry made of buttermilk, also called kadhi, majjigapulusu etc…
Since we rarely went to the city, we did not have processed food most of the time. And we did not have buttermilk in the house that day :(
It was only the fresh milk that was just delivered and a long wait time ahead….
Stay tuned to find how we cooked the curry!
