Hello, beloved reader.
I found 'The Strangest Secret' by Earl Nightingale quite by accident. I wasn't looking for it. I didn't search for it, and yet it was right there in front of me either because I'm all thumbs or because it was the universe's way of telling me that it was time for me to become privy to that knowledge. I took it as the latter.
I knew exactly why the universe had presented it to me, as soon as Earl Nightingale defined success—"success is the progressive realisation of a worthy ideal."
This is, by far, the best definition of success I've come across and I liked it so much because it makes success sound like a continuous journey, an ongoing process instead of a destination, and it makes you feel good about yourself for tirelessly working towards your goal and not giving up, even though there are days when giving up seems like the easier thing to do.
As long as you have a predetermined goal, and you're gaining momentum towards the fulfilment of your goal, you're a success. Isn't that encouraging?
Thank you for reading.
