Hello, earthling.

At the end of the short story, 'The Hand' by Guy de Maupassant, the judge, M. Bermutier, gives a very logical explanation regarding the murder, and you agree with him because it makes perfect sense, but you're also imaginative and there's a part of you that wants to believe otherwise.

While logic and imagination contended with each other, I began drawing. Usually when I'm drawing, I'm very careful about keeping the drawing as neat as a pin, making sure that there are no smudges, but while drawing this hand, that wasn't a concern because I had to make it look grisly, ghastly, and gruesome. Aha! Alliteration.
