Hello, beloved reader.

I started reading the short story 'The New Food' by Stephen Leacock in the bright morning light. It's a really short short story, so much so that it drew to an end even before I could recline.

In the story, Professor Plumb has invented a highly concentrated form of food—pills. These pills contain all the essential nutritive elements, and when diluted with water, will form all that is necessary to support life.

However, so that we may understand its drawbacks, we are painted a picture of a smiling family gathered around the table with their Christmas dinner, covered by a thimble and resting on a poker chip, waiting to expand. However, the baby grabs the whole Christmas dinner off the poker chip and bolts it. The baby is then given water, and by now we all know what happens when the water strikes the pill. It expands, yes.

Thank you for reading.
