Hello, beloved reader.
The other evening when I started reading the short story, 'The Shadow' by Laura E. Richards, I was rather downcast. The fact that that story presented itself to me at a time when I was feeling so low-spirited wasn't entirely lost on me.
However, here's the thing—no matter how cute I may think I am, I'm no child. No angel is going to come to ask me what ails me. No angel is going to lift me up, and place me facing the bright side. I'll have to do it myself every time. Every time I dwell on the shadow, I'll have to make myself turn around to face the bright side, and let the shadow fall behind me, where it belongs.
Thank you for reading.
