Hello, former child.
I got pulled into the short story, 'The Child's Story' by Charles Dickens, as soon as I read the second line of the first paragraph—"It was a magic journey, and was to seem very long when he began it, and very short when he got half way through." It immediately made me think about my life, and the words seemed so true.
In the story, the traveller meets a lot of people, but his question to all of them is the same—"What do you do here?" I was struck by the simplicity of their answers, and I wonder if I'll be able to answer that question with that simplicity or not, if at all.
Thank you for reading.
